Bruno celebrates 'the Italian job' with Pogba

Friday 19 March 2021 09:27

Bruno Fernandes has congratulated Manchester United team-mate Paul Pogba on his superb return from injury, after the Frenchman’s goal secured a vital 1-0 win over AC Milan in Italy.

Pogba had been missing since the Everton match on 6 February but showed no signs of ring rust on Thursday, when he replaced Marcus Rashford at half-time to produce an excellent performance, breaking the deadlock after 48 minutes and helping to earn a priceless victory at the San Siro.

The result in Milan wrapped up a 2-1 aggregate win over the Italian giants and, as a result, booked United’s place in the Europa League quarter-finals, with the draw set to take place this afternoon

Earlier this week, Fernandes had looked forward to Pogba’s return when wishing the France international a happy birthday and it is clear our Portuguese magnifico was delighted on Thursday.

When posting a photo with his friend via his official Instagram account, a happy Bruno wrote this caption: “The Italian job with @PaulPogba. Quarter-finals, here we come!”
Eagle-eyed followers of Fernandes will have spotted Pogba was quick to reply in the comments section, writing this response: “I am fast, bro. Thank you, brother, let's go.”

Bruno replied with “Too fast” and it is clear the internationals have forged a strong bond at United, both on and off the pitch, which is obviously great news for the club and its supporters.
Fernandes and Pogba exchanged comments on Instagram after the victory in Milan.
The question now is whether the pair will feature again in Sunday’s Emirates FA Cup quarter-final against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

This weekend’s match is scheduled for a 17:00 GMT kick-off and could possibly come too soon to start Pogba, considering he has only just returned from injury, although you never know, of course.
