Bruno Fernandes up for Premier League prize
Manchester United new boy Bruno Fernandes is in the running to be named the Premier League's Player of the Month for February.
The Portugal international's maiden month in the English top flight has been a successful one, as he made an impressive debut against Wolves before setting up Harry Maguire's header in the win at Chelsea.
He followed this up with a goal and an assist against Watford at Old Trafford, helping to earn him our own monthly award, which he was presented with at the Aon Training Complex this week.
There are five other contenders for the Premier League award:
Marcos Alonso (Chelsea): The defender scored three goals from his left-back position last month, a belter against Tottenham and a double in the 2-2 draw at Bournemouth.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Arsenal): The Gunners marksman hit a brace in the 3-2 victory against Everton and also found the net in the game with Newcastle United.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Everton): The in-form striker scored and claimed an assist against Crystal Palace before netting an acrobatic effort early on at Arsenal.
Matt Doherty (Wolves): The full-back helped the Molineux outfit keep three clean sheets in February and got an assist in the win over Norwich.
Nick Pope (Burnley): The Euro 2020 hopeful was unbeaten in goal in three of his four matches last month, and is one of the most in-form keepers in the division.
MANAGER OF THE MONTH
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also in the running for the Manager of the Month award, after the Reds won two of our three Premier League matches in February.
The Norwegian is up against Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta (P3 W2 D1), Burnley’s Sean Dyche (P4 W2 D2) and Chris Wilder of Sheffield United (P3 W2 D1), with the winner being announced at midday GMT on Friday 13 March.

The Reds' pair are competing with strikes from Steven Bergwijn (Spurs v Manchester City), Richarlison (Everton v Crystal Palace), Marcos Alonso (Chelsea v Tottenham), Enda Stevens (Sheffield United v Brighton), Matej Vydra (Burnley v Southampton) and Jamal Lewis (Norwich v Leicester).
