Ten Hag explains XI to face Bournemouth

Saturday 09 December 2023 14:34

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has made two changes to his side ahead of this afternoon's Premier League game against Bournemouth at Old Trafford.

One of the Dutchman's changes was enforced, due to the absence of Victor Lindelof, who picked up a knock in our 2-1 victory over Chelsea.

Luke Shaw moves into central defence to partner Harry Maguire, while Sergio Reguilon starts at left-back.

The second change is up front, where Anthony Martial replaces Rasmus Hojlund, with Alejandro Garnacho and Antony occupying the flanks.

Erik ten Hag talks to Stewart Gardner about his line-up tweaks, Rashford, Varane and Bournemouth...

"A second game in the week for Victor, he did very good. For Hojlund, he has played a lot of games and there are [still] many games to play as well," he told MUTV.

"But also we give Anthony Martial an opportunity, he played very good against Everton, a good performance against Newcastle."

Raphael Varane is fit enough to make a return to the bench for today's clash, after missing out on Wednesday with a sore back, and Marcus Rashford has recovered from illness to take his place as a substitute.

Action at Old Trafford commences from 15:00 GMT.

Anthony Martial comes in for Rasmus Hojlund.
