Confirmed: Ten Hag's team to face Burnley

Saturday 23 September 2023 19:00

Erik ten Hag has made three changes to his starting line-up, as Manchester United take on Burnley this evening, 72 hours after kicking off against Bayern Munich.

The Dutchman's XI at Turf Moor features a first competitive start for experienced defender Jonny Evans since his return to the club in the summer transfer window.

Speaking to MUTV, Ten Hag said: "You know what he’ll bring. He brings organisation, communication, he’s composed. He knows the job and he knows exactly what to do.

"Also, I think he had enough games for his nation so, yeah. He comes in, he will do the job.”

Evans partners Victor Lindelof at the heart of the back four, while Lisandro Martinez and Harry Maguire are both absent. Raphael Varane is deemed fit enough to provide cover from the substitutes' bench.
