Rabjohn: I can be myself at United

Manchester United defender Evie Rabjohn believes she is flourishing in the environment at the club, after making the switch from Aston Villa at the back end of last season.

The England youth international made her debut for the Reds in our 7-0 Conti Cup victory over Everton last month.

Despite being out injured at the moment, Rabjohn is determined to kick on.

“I’ve come in and the environment is one that I’m able to be myself and joke around in,” she told club media.

Evie hopes her showings for the Reds can endeavour herself even further to the United family...

“I am one of the youngest so I think some of the girls would probably say I’m like an annoying little sister but that’s just what I’m like.

“It’s been nice for that side to me to come out and to just be in and around the team - but on the pitch, it’s nice to just get in full flow and do what I do.”
Evie says there are a handful of players in particular she gets on well with - Leah Galton, Rach Williams, and Lisa Naalsund - but Aoife Mannion has been like ‘the mum’ of the group.

“She’s like the mum, isn’t she?” Evie added.

“For me coming in as an 18-year-old, it’s nice to have someone who has taken me under their wing and always there for me and helping me if I need anything.”
Rabjohn is enjoying competing at a high level with the Reds.
United are competing for the title once more this term - and Rabjohn hopes she can play her part as we look to add more silverware to our name.

“It’s nice to be competing for the top spot all the time and in and around players of such calibre and ability that [means] every week we’re fighting and we’re playing good football.

“To be part of the squad and to be trusted in the Conti Cup, to come on and make a difference or get involved, it’s nice.

“I feel like I'm really improving, being in and around that all the time, but it’s just about making those connections and bonds with players and staff that ultimately is going to make me a better player.”
Evie made her Reds debut in our Conti Cup win over Everton.
Evie’s introduction against Everton was met with a roar from the United faithful, who the 18-year-old is determined to repay on the pitch.

“It’s been amazing to come in and have [their] support,” Rabjohn told us.

“I’ve come in as a young player and for these fans to have such support and back me so much… it makes me want to play so well and perform for them on the pitch.”
