Fans at Old Trafford.

Five important messages for supporters

Thursday 12 August 2021 12:06

For many, Saturday will be the first visit back to Old Trafford in what we expect to be a blockbuster of a match against rivals Leeds United.

Here are the keys things to know for those attending our Premier League opener...

Arrive early
We strongly encourage all fans to arrive at least 90 minutes before kick-off to avoid queues and congestion. There are significant works and disruption on the roads and tram networks so traffic will be much busier than normal. Fans must plan ahead – check the TfGM website to plan your journey. Doors open two hours before kick-off with bottles of beer and cider for sale at a newly reduced price of £3 in the concourses.

Digital ticketing
This has been introduced across the stadium as part of the league-wide COVID-security plan – fans should get ready in advance and download their digital ticket onto their smartphone or print at home. All kiosks at the stadium are now cashless too.

COVID safety
We will not be conducting COVID certification checks but we encourage all fans to take a lateral flow test within 48 hours of the game and anyone who has tested positive, displays symptoms or is required to isolate should not attend the match. Our updated Supporters’ Code of Conduct designed to minimise the risk of the spread of COVID-19 can be found here. Please also be mindful that players and management are required to remain in their bubbles and are not able to stop for autographs and photographs before or after the game.

Stadium upgrades
Look out for the new floodlights, the expanded atmosphere section in the Stretford End and the new barrier-seating section in the north-east corner of the stadium.

Remembering those who have passed
We will be holding a minute’s silence ahead of the game to remember the former players and fans of both clubs who have passed away since we last had a full stadium at Old Trafford back in March 2020.

Enjoy the game, we can't wait to welcome you back this weekend!
