Fantasy United: How do my players score points?

Friday 26 July 2024 11:27

Manchester United are currently in Los Angeles ahead of the first of three pre-season matches on Tour 2024 in the United States.

The Reds are set to face Arsenal at the city’s state-of-the-art SoFi Stadium (01:00 BST Sunday), before trips to San Diego to face Real Betis and Columbia to go head-to-head with Liverpool.

As with our previous pre-season matches in Norway and Scotland, those fixtures will be broadcast live on MUTV, and are all part of our summer preparations for the start of the competitive campaign.

After an all-Manchester duel with City in the Community Shield on 10 August, our Premier League term gets under way at home to Fulham six days later and, while that marks the start of a brand-new league season, the game against the Cottagers will be the first time you can score points in Fantasy United: our brand-new fantasy football game for 2024/25.

Fantasy United: Which Red top scored v Rangers?

Discover which of Erik ten Hag’s players would have earned you the most points in our new game.

The Reds that you can pick in your five-man line-up for matchday will be determined by the official Player Trading Cards – available in three rarities: Classic, Rare and Ultra-Rare – that you attain in special packs, available soon to all fans, after a special pre-release for Devils digital collectible holders.

Ahead of that, and as you prepare to select your first side of the season against Fulham, we thought we would share more of an insight into exactly how players score points in Fantasy United.

You may have seen our breakdown of the top scorers in Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Rangers at Murrayfield, in which Amad was the main man, netting 10 points to come out on top across the 21 players that Erik ten Hag utilised on the afternoon in the Scottish capital.

The Ivorian’s route to double figures came via his goal (five points), plus the additional factors that he started the match and created three chances (two points each), as well as being our highest points-scoring forward in the win at full-time, earning him an additional bonus point.

Those aforementioned paths to points may be popular sources for your players across the 2024/25 season, while assists (three points), clean sheets for goalkeepers and defenders that started (four points) and penalty saves (five points) are also likely to be much sought after.

Not to forget, each line-up you select can have one Rare and Ultra-Rare card included, and those rarities will net you double and triple the return on every point that they score, so be sure to make your choices wisely!

Here’s the full list of the ways your Reds can net you points, and potentially propel you to glory in mini-leagues against your friends…

TOP SCORER V ARSENAL?

Although Fantasy United is not officially registering points until our Premier League opener against Fulham, we’re wondering: with the scoring system in mind, who you think would be the best player to have in your team for this weekend’s pre-season meeting with Arsenal?

Be sure to vote in our polls below, after considering the team that fantasy football content creator Ross Dowsett, aka FPL Raptor, would opt for this weekend.

Raptor, also an avid Reds fan, came out on top in last weekend’s Expert v Legend match-up with Bryan Robson, and will hope for more success as he goes up against more former United players over the course of the season. Be sure to keep an eye out for those, here in the United App and on ManUtd.com!

Raptor’s team: Yoro, Casemiro, Amad, Mount (Rare), Rashford (Ultra-Rare).
