Moorhouse joins Leyton Orient on loan
Young Manchester United midfielder Jack Moorhouse has signed a new three-year contract with the club, with a one-year option.
The Republic of Ireland youth international has also agreed a season-long loan move with Leyton Orient.
That will provide Moorhouse with his first sustained experience of senior football away from United, and it’ll be under the guidance of Academy graduate Richie Wellens.
Wellens, who made one appearance for United before a successful playing career elsewhere, led Orient to the League Two title in the 2022/23 season and then to the League One play-off final last May. Unfortunately, the Os were defeated by fellow Londoners Charlton Athletic.
Moorhouse thus links up with a club seeking to build on the momentum generated by last season’s fine form.
The 19-year-old enjoyed a stellar 2024/25 campaign himself, during which time he received the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for December and was involved in several senior travelling squads under Ruben Amorim.
Jack then played in both of our post-season tour games in Asia in May.
