Marcus Rashford, as has so often been the case this season, was the matchwinner, lashing into David Raya's goal in the 27th minute of a tightly contested game.

That was all there was to report in terms of scoring, but the Reds put in a solid team performance to see off the Bees - who had lost just once in 16 league games - and regain some confidence following our run of three winless top-flight fixtures.

But who claimed our Man-of-the-Match award?

The Reds were solid at the back, with David De Gea keeping an eighth home clean sheet of the season in the league. The Spaniard was only really called into action once, saving well with his legs from Kevin Schade midway through the second half.

Defending is, of course, a team effort and David was ably assisted by Diogo Dalot, Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez, while Tyrell Malacia also proved he can mix it physically after being introduced as a first-half substitute for the injured Luke Shaw.

Scott McTominay stood out in midfield too, as he covered the yards going forward and tracking back - the Scotland international could even have opened the scoring early on.

Bruno Fernandes was as creative as ever, and he was singled out by Erik ten Hag for praise after the match, as were Jadon Sancho and Marcel Sabitzer, who provided a brilliant assist for Marcus's decisive goal.

Ultimately though, that strike was enough for Rashy to claim the MOTM award. He gained 46 per cent of the vote, which was enough to secure a 13th win for him individually in 2022/23.

He now has 28 goals in all competitions for United this season, and his 121 efforts for the club puts him level with the legendary Andy Cole.

Scott was second in the poll with 20 per cent, showing how much fans appreciated his all-action showing, with Bruno third on 11 per cent.
