United make Europa League squad tweak

Manchester United have made a late change to our Europa League squad, ahead of the semi-final first leg at Athletic Club.

Bendito Mantato, who trained at Carrington with the senior group on Wednesday and was named in the travelling squad, has been added to the B list for the competition.

As he is a homegrown player, who has come through the ranks with the Reds, the 17-year-old is now eligible for the fixture at San Mames, which kicks off at 20:00 BST.

The Reds are taking 26 players to Bilbao and will also train in the Basque Country on Friday morning.

The versatile forward has impressed for the Under-18s and Under-21s this term and will be gaining valuable experience out in the Basque Country.

Mantato scored the extra-time winner in the dramatic FA Youth Cup quarter-final win at Arsenal's Emirates Stadium earlier in the season.

United head coach Ruben Amorim selected a 26-man squad for Bilbao, with a view to training in the local area on Friday morning, in order to begin preparations for Sunday's Premier League date at Brentford.

It means a number of other youngsters are on the trip, including Jaydan Kamason and Tyler Fredricson, who were already registered.

Matthijs de Ligt and Amad are both in the squad, after injury lay-offs, and the boss suggested, during his press conference, they will not start but could make the bench for the last-four tie.
