Marc Skinner backs the Manchester United fans to make the difference in Sunday's clash against Brighton & Hove Albion.

United Women return to WSL action against the Seagulls at Leigh Sports Village (12:00 BST), following a two-week international break, and are looking to continue the perfect start to the current league campaign.

Ahead of the fixture, against a tough opponent, the boss thinks our home fans can help swing the match in our favour.

Marc Skinner praises the Barmy Army ahead of United Women's match against Brighton on Sunday...

"I remember playing at home and just looking out on the first day of the season [against Reading] and thinking 'This feels amazing'," Skinner recalled, in his pre-match interview with club media.

"And our fans have the ability to do that. They're loud, they're vibrant, they're energetic. That's what we need; that's what we want.

"We want that energy on Sunday to make sure that we play [well] up against a very tough opponent."

But despite the home support, Skinner admitted that his side will have to perform well to overcome Hope Powell's stern Brighton team.

"They will be dangerous," he said. "But we have to do what we do best and that is to try and dictate the game, and dominate as much as we can.

"Regardless of how good the opponent are, to which I think they'll be very good, we have to raise our game above that."
A familiar face: Maya Le Tissier could face former club Brighton on Sunday.

United have been in scintillating form at the start of the new WSL campaign, defeating both Reading and West Ham and keeping two clean sheets in the process.

With that in mind, the boss is keen to keep the momentum going as his players return from international duty.

"It surely is [good to be back in action], and we want results," he said. "We want to be aggressive with the ball, and without the ball when we don't have it and in transition moments. I want to make sure that we remind ourselves of that daily.

"We've just got to prepare as best we can to face a really tough opponent with the qualities that we have."
