Earps and Parris up for Fans’ Player of the Month
Mary Earps and Nikita Parris have been nominated for the PFA Fans’ Player of the Month award, sponsored by Vertu Motors, following their October performances for Manchester United Women.
The pair have both played key roles in the Reds’ continued form, with Marc Skinner’s side racking up another three victories to sit at the top of the Barclays WSL table.
Parris was on the scoresheet twice across our three October matches, showing exactly why Skinner brought her to the club from Arsenal in the summer.
At the other end of the pitch, Earps kept three clean sheets and is yet to have conceded a goal in the league this term.
In October, the Reds recorded a 4-0 win over Brighton at Leigh Sports Village, and followed it up with a hard-fought 1-0 victory away to Leicester City and another commanding performance at Everton (3-0).
Parris scored in the latter two fixtures, while Earps also played a pivotal role in all three matches with some truly remarkable saves.
This form has culminated in the duo both being selected in Sarina Wiegman’s recent Lionesses squad too.
Man City's Lauren Hemp and Khadija Shaw are also up for the award, as well as Arsenal's Frida Maanum and Chelsea's Pernille Harder.
