Scott looks ripped ahead of pre-season

On Tuesday, we shared some images of Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe showing off his incredible physique after working hard in the gym this summer.

Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford and Alex Telles are among others to post their exercise regimes on social media as thoughts start to turn towards pre-season.

The first batch of Reds will return to Carrington on Monday 27 June, with new manager Erik ten Hag looking forward to working with his squad for the first time.

Scott McTominay was involved with Scotland in their recent internationals, playing as recently as 14 June, meaning he is still enjoying some well-deserved time off ahead of Tour 2022 and the new season.

But, if his Instagram story is anything to go by, Scott is maintaining a very serious physical routine to allow him to return and impress Erik as soon as possible.

Scott's looking ripped!

The 25-year-old looks pretty ripped in the gym photographs, captioned ‘Late night’s work’ and ‘Boot camp’.

Seen alongside a friend, Scott has also been working with former Academy team-mate Callum Whelan, who left United in 2019 and currently plays for Oldham Athletic.

After such a disappointing campaign for all Reds in 2021/22, McTominay will be keen to improve this year and personal progression is something he’s always valued highly.

“I want to keep improving every day,” he told us earlier this year.

“Sometimes when you don’t play and you don’t train well, you go home and it affects you.

“You want to keep getting better and better whenever you play the game of football so I feel like that’s always been my goal and it was when I was a kid as well.”

McTominay made 37 appearances for United last season, bringing him up to 170 games for the club in total.

He has established himself as first-choice for his national side too, winning 34 caps for Steve Clarke’s side, for whom he often plays as a central defender in a back three.
