Manchester United forward Anthony Elanga showcased his quality and scored on his debut for Sweden’s Under-21 side.

The youngster impressed on his first outing by scoring a worldie, as the Swedes beat Finland 2-0 in a friendly.

The 19-year-old has had a prolific campaign in front of goal and showed exactly why when he doubled his national team’s advantage. From the left wing, Elanga used his skill and pace to make his way towards the opposition’s area before unleashing an unstoppable strike into the top far corner.

But don’t take our word for it – thanks to our friends at TV4/XVI Sports Sweden, you can check out his unbelievable strike yourself...

In his post-match interview following the game, Elanga told Swedish channel TV4 about his superb hit.

I think it was a good match, a good half from me and my boys. I just tried to do my thing and it was a nice goal,” he told reporters.

I saw that it was open on the left side of the goalkeeper, so I just tucked it away there.

Now, our talented youngster is eager to keep his spot in the Swedish side but equally determined not to get carried away following his impressive performances in recent weeks.

“It’s just about keep working hard, and show the boss that I want to play, Elanga emphasised in his post-match interview.

I will let my feet do the talking. It’s just about working hard in training and we’ll see what happens.

After his outstanding display, he was also asked if he felt extra pressure representing his country as a United player, but Elanga immediately made sure to dampen that assumption.

Whether it’s Under-19s, Under-21s, it doesn’t matter. I don’t feel pressure, I just want to play football, he said.

It’s a dream of course to play for the national team, but I’m focused on the Under-21s and my boys here. We’ll see what the future will bring.

We could watch Anthony Elanga’s first senior goal again and again…

The Academy graduate has had an eventful few weeks. First, in May, he made his debut for United in our Premier League clash with Leicester City.

Then, after his maiden appearance for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first team, the promising attacker crowned a successful campaign by scoring his first senior United goal in our last league game of the season away at Wolverhampton Wanderers, in a 2-1 triumph.

We look forward to what’s to come next season. Congratulations on your first goal for Sweden Under-21s, Anthony!
