What De Gea makes of our new signings

Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea says he is a big fan of the Reds' new summer signings.

Tom Heaton and Jadon Sancho have been added to the United dressing room so far, and that is of course a group that could soon be bolstered further with the inclusion of prospective signing Raphael Varane.

Having been at Old Trafford for a decade now, De Gea is no stranger to welcoming new players to the club and says that it is always a joy to do so.

Sancho gets to work!

Speaking to club media ahead of our season kick-off this weekend, the goalkeeper gave his thoughts on our recent incomings, just over 10 years on from his own arrival in Manchester.

“It’s always a pleasure to welcome new faces and quality players to add to the group, it’s always a positive,”
De Gea said.

“We still have the odd player to join up with the group, but [I’m] delighted with the new signings.”
The recruit that the Spaniard will likely spend the most time with this season is fellow goalkeeper Heaton who returned to his boyhood club on a free transfer earlier this summer.

The pair have already got to know each other in the time since De Gea returned for pre-season during last week’s training camp in Scotland, and the 30-year-old is now looking forward to working with the England international further over the coming months.

“[I’m especially excited to welcome] Tom, the keeper, who I’m with a lot of more of the time,
“ he added.

“He’s a great bloke and a top keeper. He’s really going to bring a lot to the group and let’s hope it’s the same with the rest of the signings too.

“They have great quality and I reckon that it’ll be easy for them to settle in.”
