Manchester United begin the month of May with an Emirates FA Cup semi-final rematch on Thursday, when we travel to the Amex Stadium to face Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League.
Erik ten Hag’s side returned to winning ways after besting Aston Villa at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon, bolstering our push for a Champions League spot.
Roberto De Zerbi’s side are also chasing European football and they currently sit eighth in the Premier League, just four points behind Liverpool in fifth place, but having played two games fewer.
Here is all the essential information you need, ahead of our trip to the south coast...

WHAT’S THE TEAM NEWS?
Harry Maguire made his return to the squad on Sunday, after coming off the bench in the 85th minute against Aston Villa. Our captain picked up an injury in training last week, ruling him out of the visit to Tottenham.
Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Alejandro Garnacho is back in training and is close to a return, while the boss hopes Raphael Varane will be back in time for the FA Cup final on 3 June.
The return dates for Scott McTominay and Tom Heaton are unknown, but Lisandro Martinez (foot) and Donny van de Beek (knee) have been ruled out for the rest of the campaign.
The home side have a few long-term absentees in Adam Lallana, Jakub Moder and Tariq Lamptey, while highly rated young forward Evan Ferguson has missed games recently with an ankle problem.
THE OPPOSITION
Brighton look to be back in the ascendancy following their defeat to the Reds in the FA Cup semi-final, after winning 6-0 against Wolverhampton Wanderers at home on Saturday.
Since replacing Graham Potter in September 2022, De Zerbi has taken the Seagulls to new heights, winning 11 games, drawing six and losing eight in the Premier League, as they bid to qualify for Europe for the very first time.
World Cup winner Alexis Mac Allister and Kaoru Mitoma are currently the top goalscorers for Brighton with 10 goals apiece in all competitions. The emergence of youngster Ferguson has also caught the attention, with the Republic of Ireland international scoring eight goals and providing three assists in just 19 games this term.
RECENT MEETINGS
The Reds have played the Seagulls on two occasions this season, with mixed results. Brighton picked up a victory over United in the opening game of the Premier League season, thanks to a brace from Pascal Gross. But United gained revenge last weekend with a heroic penalty shootout victory in the FA Cup semi-final.
Victor Lindelof’s spot-kick proved to be the difference maker when the two sides had to go to sudden death, following a hard fought 0-0 draw at Wembley.
