Sancho's career so far in numbers

Jadon Sancho completed his transfer to Manchester United last Friday, signing a five-year deal and taking the shirt number 25.

But what are the other important figures that Reds need to know about the 21-year-old's professional career, which started in 2017?

Take five minutes to read through our nine number-based facts about Jadon...

Sancho: I wanted to be part of this clubvideo

137 – First-team appearances for Borussia Dortmund across four action-packed seasons. That included 104 Bundesliga appearances, 21 Champions League games, 11 matches in the German Cup (known as the DFB-Pokal over there) and one German Supercup. That Supercup match was memorable for victory over big rivals Bayern Munich, where Jadon scored one and assisted the other in Dortmund’s 2-0 triumph.

108 – The remarkable amount of goal contributions Sancho delivered in a Dortmund shirt over those 137 matches, made up of 50 goals and 58 assists. Those 50 Sancho goals were spread over the Bundesliga (38), the Champions League (5), the German Cup (6) and the Supercup (1).

10 – The amount of goal contributions Jadon enjoyed in just seven games against RB Leipzig, the opposition who have been most punished in his short career to date. Those six goals and four assists in seven games against Leipzig included two goals and an assist in May 2021’s German Cup final.

22 - Senior international caps for England. Jadon made his international debut at the age of 18, in a Nations League match with 2018 World Cup finalists Croatia. He was a late sub for Raheem Sterling in that 0-0 draw back in October 2018.

58 - Matches across the England international set-up, taking in games for the Under-16s, U17s, U19s and the seniors. Jadon scored 26 goals across those games.

35 - Games for Manchester City across their U18, U19 and U23 teams, between 2015 and 2017 before leaving for Germany at the age of 17. He scored 20 times across those 35 games (none against United though!).

3 – Goals in three group game matches for England in the U17 World Cup of 2017, before he had to withdraw from the tournament having been recalled by Borussia Dortmund. England went on to win the World Cup, while Jadon made his senior debut for Dortmund just five days after leaving the England camp. He had previously driven England through to the final of the U17 European Championships, and was named Player of the Tournament.

7 – The age he was when he joined Watford. He came through the junior ranks with the Hornets for seven years, until making the decision to move north to sign for Manchester City.

7 – Also stands for the run of consecutive matches in which he scored for Dortmund in November and December of 2019. His victims in that stellar spell included Paderborn, Hertha Berlin, Fortuna Dusseldorf, Mainz and RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga, plus Barcelona and Slavia Prague in the Champions League.
