Harry Maguire and Kobbie Mainoo have been recalled to the England squad, for the friendlies against Uruguay and Japan later in March.
The Manchester United pair have been rewarded for their stellar form so far this year, with both playing key roles in our resurgence under Michael Carrick.
Maguire and Mainoo have started all nine Premier League games since Carrick was named head coach, with United winning seven of those encounters and losing just one.
It's the first time the duo have been selected in a Three Lions group by Thomas Tuchel, since the German took charge in January 2025, and the news will provide an added boost, given it's the last international break of the season, before the World Cup this summer.
Maguire has won 64 caps for England and is his country's highest all-time scoring defender, with seven goals.
Despite missing Euro 2024 through injury, Harry has been one of the Three Lions' most reliable tournament performers over the last decade, making his international breakthrough at the 2018 World Cup and being named in the Team of the Tournament after Euro 2020.
Mainoo, meanwhile, burst on to the scene at the European Championship in Germany, starting each of the four knockout games, including the final, after only winning his first cap earlier in 2024.
The pair's most recent international appearance came in the same game: a 2-0 UEFA Nations League victory over Republic of Ireland, in September 2024, when Lee Carsley was caretaker boss.
They will both hope to be involved when England take on Uruguay, next Friday (27 March) at Wembley.
The national stadium will then host the friendly against Japan four days later, as the final World Cup tournament places are decided elsewhere.
Academy graduate James Garner is in line for a debut, on the back of an impressive campaign with Everton, while Marcus Rashford - on loan at Barcelona - retains his place from the group which completed a perfect qualifying campaign in November.
