Who was United's Man of the Match against Palace?

Every pre-season game - including Aston Villa (10:45 BST Saturday 23 July) - will be shown live in our app and on ManUtd.com.

United showed more pre-season fluency in Tuesday's 3-1 win over Crystal Palace, as Erik ten Hag recorded his third consecutive victory since taking the reins.

There was a third goal of Tour 2022 for Anthony Martial, a glorious team move finished off by Marcus Rashford, and another tormenting turn from Jadon Sancho, who has been in a merciless mood from the right flank throughout the last three games.

There were many other impressive performers, too, including Tyrell Malacia, on his first United start.

But who won our Man of the Match prize? Scroll down to find out...

Martial has scored in every game of the tour so far, and has been impressing throughout with his work-rate and willingness to defend from the front.

The Frenchman opened the scoring at the MCG when he chested down Diogo Dalot's left-footed cross and fired past Remi Matthews, and could have scored a couple more but for some good Palace saves.

Nevertheless, his promising all-round display has earned him our Man of the Match prize, thanks to a massive 50 per cent of your vote.
Trailing Martial is the aforementioned Sancho, who has arguably been the outstanding United player on the whole tour.

The winger's decision-making, passing and technical trickery drew gasps from the MCG crowd at times, and he made his goal – United's third – look laughably easy.

Sent clear by Martial, he simply dummied, waited for the goalkeeper and chasing defender to go to ground, and then calmly slotted into the empty net. The England international could not overhaul Martial for the award, but still scooped a solid 25 per cent of the votes.

In third was Tyrell Malacia (6 per cent), who played 79 minutes of the game – more than any other outfield Red. Does that give an indication that the former Feyenoord man is in Erik ten Hag's thinking for that first Premier League game on 7 August? We'll have to wait and see.

But there's plenty of encouraging signs from the left-back. He played a bold crossfield pass to Dalot in the build-up to our opening goal (and with his unfavoured right foot) and was a lively, energetic presence throughout his time on the field.

Behind Malacia was Marcus Rashford (5 per cent), while Diogo Dalot, Bruno Fernandes and David De Gea also drew decent support.

Congratulations to Anthony! And thanks to everyone who voted!
