Ahead of Manchester United's Premier League season opener on Sunday, we are pleased to publish our 2025/26 Fan Engagement Plan, outlining the club’s commitment to engaging with you, our fans, throughout the upcoming campaign.
United has a fanbase unlike any other club and our Fan Engagement Plan for 2025/26, published in accordance with the Premier League’s Fan Engagement Standard, details our ongoing commitment to strengthening the connection between club and fans and deepening our engagement with supporters, locally and globally.
It is our third annual plan and we are proud to share it with you today.
Centred around a key mission statement, the plan is an evolution from previous seasons and sets out core objectives for the upcoming campaign, building on achievements from 2024/25 and evaluating key successes and learnings.
Ahead of the new season we have a new Nominated Board Level Official (NBLO) overseeing fan engagement, our chief communications officer, Toby Craig, who said:
“I’m delighted to have assumed the NBLO role and take responsibility for how we engage with our incredible fans.
“This is a very special club and our supporters both here in Manchester and all over the world set a standard for passion, loyalty and commitment. In turn, today we launch our Fan Engagement Plan for the season ahead and can share our commitments with all of you. We are constantly evolving and improving the way we work with our official fan bodies and groups.
“We would like to place on record our thanks to all the fan representatives who contribute so much to the club, doing so in their own time. These relationships will help us to consult better and in turn achieve better outcomes for Manchester United on and off the pitch.“
At the heart of the club’s fan engagement is enabling dialogue and furthering consultation and collaboration with our fan groups and communities, ensuring supporters have access to representative fan bodies such as the Fans' Advisory Board and Fans’ Forum and can provide input into optimising the matchday and overall fan experience.
The plan sets out four main commitments the club is giving to its fans ahead of the new season:
• We will listen to you and improve your experience
• We will reward your loyalty
• We will grow fan communities across the world
• We will celebrate our heritage
Rick McGagh, director of fan engagement, said:
“Our fans are what makes this football club so special, and we will continue to work hard to reward their loyalty and create memorable experiences for them. We are very proud to have a global network of over 330 official supporters club spanning 92 countries and we want to continue working with them, our FAB, Fans’ Forum and MUST to bring fans closer to the club and to improve the matchday experience at Old Trafford and Leigh Sports Village.
”Getting fan insight and input is key to our work – no more so than for our ambition to build a new 100,000-seater, world-class stadium and to regenerate the surrounding area. We will continue to consult with fans and ensure they have a say throughout this important project so we get an outcome we can all be proud of. Everyone at the club is excited about the upcoming season both on and off the pitch across our men’s, women’s and academy teams and we know we will have the fans behind us throughout.”
