Rashford and the Reds post messages to the fans

Manchester United trio Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire and Eric Bailly have all sent messages to the fans, thanking them for their support and vowing to bring home a trophy this week.

The Premier League campaign was concluded on Sunday afternoon with an excellent 2-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux, where Anthony Elanga and Juan Mata both scored.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side finished in second place and, while that position will never be celebrated at Old Trafford, it does represent clear progress from last season’s third-placed finish.

United’s attention has now turned to Wednesday night’s Europa League final against Villarreal in Gdansk, Poland, and the players are all desperate to reward your support with a piece of silverware.

“Well, where do you start when describing this season,”
wrote Rashford on Twitter. “It’s been a strange one and challenging without our 12th man by our side much of the time. That noise and that passion will never be taken for granted. On our hardest days you’ve always pulled us through.

“We’ve felt your support from home but nothing has put a bigger smile on our faces than seeing you back where you belong. There are plenty of positives we can take from this season but still a lot to build upon. The goal remains the same. Time to bring home silverware.”
Harry Maguire watched Sunday’s win from home as he continues to recover from an injury and the club captain was delighted by what he saw, as he explained in his own message to the fans.
“Great way to finish the Premier League campaign,”
he said. “Well done lads. Another step forward this year but we don’t settle for this, next year we must improve again. Looking forward to Wednesday.”

Eric Bailly, who played a full match at Molineux in Maguire’s absence, has also vowed to reward our supporters with a big performance in Poland this week.

“We finish the season with a bittersweet feeling. We would have loved to enjoy the season with our fans at the stadium, but now look forward to your full return with great excitement. We have one final left and we promise to do our best to bring the trophy home.”
