Reds supporters predict United's 2023/24 campaign

Now that Manchester United's 2023/24 home shirt has been released, our supporters are naturally beginning to look forward to the beginning of the season.

Erik ten Hag will take charge of the Reds for his second campaign since being appointed last summer, and he will no doubt be eager to build upon a successful first term at the helm.

The Dutchman ended our six-year wait for a trophy when we won the 2023 Carabao Cup in February and ensured United returned to the Champions League for next season too.

In anticipation of the Reds' pre-season preparations, we spoke to supporters at the launch of our new kit in the United Megastore, getting their predictions for 2023/24.

“[I'm expecting] a little bit more progression” said one supporter. “He [Ten Hag] did really well last year. He knows what he's doing. He is invested in the team and he's invested in the whole club really.

”I think, this year, a little bit more progression and fighting for the title.“

Another said: ”I want us to start the season the way we finished the last one. If we start well and keep it, I will be happy with that.“

United will return to the Champions League next year and, as well as getting the competition's badges printed on the sleeves of their brand new jerseys, some of our fans shared their hopes for the Reds in a tournament we last won in 2008.

“I am keeping my fingers crossed that we will be able to challenge,” admitted one supporter. “The players are performing really good now and we should be able to challenge in the Champions League.”

He wasn't alone in his European aspirations either, with a fellow Red saying: “I think we'll probably get to the quarters, semi and maybe final. Hopefully the final.”

While in agreement in terms of praise for Erik, fans that we spoke to were divided when posed with the question of which Red would be our standout player in 2023/24.

“I'd like to say Garnacho, because I like to support the youth,” said one fan. “You've got other wingers at the club like Amad, who might [play]. You never know. I'd probably say Garnacho and I'm hoping he has a good season.”

“Casemiro is great, Bruno is fantastic,” said another. “He has this energy, this passion to win. No matter how the game has gone, he has this belief to win.”

A different supporter said: “Casemiro [is my standout]. It's Bruno, it's Casemiro, it's Marcus Rashford and let's hope there are some new additions too. With additions there is no reason we can't go to at least the latter stages of the Champions League.”
