Skinner nominated for WSL Manager of the Season

Manchester United boss Marc Skinner has been nominated for the Barclays Women’s Super League Manager of the Season award.

The Reds are on course to break into the top three of the league for the first time since we were promoted to the top-flight of women's football in 2019 and also book a place in the Champions League for next season.

We’ll be pushing until the last day of the season for the WSL title, though Chelsea are the team who currently sit two points clear at the top of the table.

His nomination comes just a week after picking up a third Manager of the Month award for the 2022/23 season, after United went unbeaten throughout the month of April.

How is the WSL title race shaping up?

With two games to go, we’re currently the side in the league with the best defensive record, having conceded just 11 goals in 20 games – Arsenal are the second closest, conceding 12.

We’re also in high-flying form at the top of the pitch, scoring 53 goals in the WSL, second only to Chelsea’s eye-watering tally of 63.

As of right now, Skinner’s players have only been defeated twice this season – both of which came at the hands of the Blues.
We’ve drawn to City, with our home tie still to come this weekend, while becoming the third team ever to record a league double over Arsenal.

We may have recorded some high-scoring results of late, but perhaps none as enthralling as comebacks at both Arsenal and Aston Villa in which stoppage time goals saw us snatch maximum points at the death.

Regardless of what happens in our final two games, it has been a memorable season for the Reds.
