Manchester United's Under-21s beat Chester 4-0 on Tuesday evening, in a pre-season friendly at the Deva Stadium.
The Reds raced into a two-goal lead inside the first 45 minutes in Cheshire, with Shola Shoretire finding the net first after some superb wing play in the build-up by Mateo Mejia.
Charlie McNeill then made it 2-0 before the break, smashing home from inside the area after Marc Jurado had done well to create the opening.
United didn't let up after the break, with McNeill adding his second from close range on 58 minutes, before Noam Emeran completed the scoring, tapping home from close range.
United continued to probe and Toby Collyer did well to burst forward from midfield, cleverly picking out McNeill inside the penalty area. His first-time effort flashed into the side netting, with the offside flag raised soon after on the near side.
Emeran then found enough room to weave his way inside the penalty area as the first half etched on. His shot was beaten away by Chester goalkeeper Wyll Stanway.
Fifteen minutes later, McNeill doubled United's advantage after Marc Jurado had done well to create the opening on the left. When the latter's initial effort was blocked, McNeill was well placed to power home the follow-up.
As the second half began, Emeran's trickery and pace continued to open doors for our young Reds, with his curling effort early on well saved by Chester's ever-busy shot-stopper.
Shortly after, Jurado's cross found the feet of McNeill inside the penalty area, who found enough time to turn and shoot, with his subsequent effort connecting with the top of the crossbar.
After 71 minutes gone at the Deva Stadium, United had a fourth goal, with a slick counter-attack culminating in Emeran's final touch at the back post. Shoretire's driving run and pass found McNeill in behind the hosts' defence, as he squared for the Frenchman to finish well.
Teden Mengi rose highest to power a header goalwards inside the final ten minutes, but Stanway denied the defender.
