What's happening at United this week?

It's the first full week of 2020 and, as usual, there's plenty going on at Manchester United.

After Saturday's goalless draw at Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Emirates FA Cup, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's focus shifts to the Carabao Cup, as we host Manchester City in a mouthwatering clash at Old Trafford on Tuesday.

Norwich City travel to M16 four days later, while there are also matches for our Under-23s and women's team, as well as cup draws and birthdays to look forward to.

Here's a full guide to what's in store...

MONDAY

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set to appear in front of the media at the Aon Training Complex in the morning, as the Reds prepare to host crosstown rivals Manchester City in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday. As usual, we’ll be keeping you right up-to-date on all the stories through our Official App.

In the evening, Neil Wood's Under-23s will be in action, away to West Ham United in a Premier League 2 Division Two game that will be shown live on MUTV. Kick-off is at 19:00 GMT.

The fourth-round draw for the Emirates FA Cup takes place at 19:35 GMT and United are in the hat along with Wolves, who will travel to Old Trafford for a replay next week.

At 17:00 GMT, the draw will be made for the Women's FA Cup fourth round. Talking of our women’s side, we’ll be wishing defender Kirsty Smith a very happy 26th birthday.

Preview: FA Cup fourth-round draw

TUESDAY

It’s the big one as Pep Guardiola’s Blues travel to Old Trafford in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-finals. 2018 and 2019 winners City are unbeaten in the competition since a Juan Mata goal knocked them out in the fourth round in 2016, while United will be looking for a repeat of the last Manchester derby to take place at this stage of the competition. Wayne Rooney’s injury-time header helped us on our way to our fourth League Cup, courtesy of a 3-1 second-leg win in the semi-final at the Theatre of Dreams, a decade ago.

WEDNESDAY

We’ll be providing you with all the post-match reaction from Tuesday night's match and – hopefully – celebrating a United win. The second leg at the Etihad takes place on Wednesday 29 January so there’s plenty of time for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his coaching staff to prepare for that, during what is yet another jam-packed month.

THURSDAY

Preparations will continue for our next Premier League assignment, at home to Norwich City on Saturday.

FRIDAY

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will hold his pre-match press conference at the Aon Training Complex on the eve of Norwich's visit. You can keep up with what the boss says in our Official App from 10:00 GMT, as well as on ManUtd.com.

Later in the day, our Under-23s host Newcastle United at Leigh Sports Village in their second fixture of the week. Kick-off is at 19:00 GMT, and the match will be shown live on MUTV.

SATURDAY

The Reds are back at Old Trafford in the Premier League for the first time since Boxing Day, as we take on Daniel Farke’s Canaries. Goals from Scott McTominay, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial helped us to a comfortable 3-1 win at Carrow Road in October, and we’ll be hoping for more of the same come Saturday.

Club legend Bryan Robson celebrates his 63rd birthday on this day. ‘Captain Marvel’ signed for the Reds from West Bromwich Albion and went on to make 461 appearances at Old Trafford, winning seven major honours. Happy birthday, Robbo!

SUNDAY

Our women's team take on Liverpool in a crunch Women’s Super League match, at Prenton Park (12:00 GMT). Casey Stoney’s side will be looking to bounce back from the shock 0-1 home defeat to Bristol City and complete a league double over the Merseysiders, having won the reverse fixture at Leigh Sports Village 2-0 in late September.
