With Manchester United’s Premier League schedule for the 2023/24 season having been released on Thursday (15 June) morning, we now know who the Reds are set to play over the festive period.
It’s a traditional – and important - spell in the English football calendar, with games often coming around thick and fast either side of the turn of the year.
The upcoming campaign will see a more familiar festive period resume in the Premier League, with matches both in the lead up to and after Christmas Day. In 2022/23, there was nothing on the division's programme between 14 November and 25 December due to the World Cup break, with the season resuming on Boxing Day.
While the dates of the fixtures in this piece are still subject to change, United are set to face West Ham away in our final outing before Christmas.
The trip to face David Moyes’s Europa Conference League winners at the London Stadium is currently pencilled in for Saturday 23 December.
On the other side of Christmas, the Reds could play on Boxing Day for the first time since the 2020/21 season.
A home game currently awaits Erik ten Hag’s side on 26 December, with Unai Emery’s Aston Villa the visitors to Old Trafford.
We’re then set to be back on the road to close out 2023, with Nottingham the destination on Saturday 30 December, for a contest with Forest at The City Ground.
United triumphed on both of our visits to the home of Steve Cooper’s side last season, winning 2-0 and 3-0 in the Premier League and Carabao Cup respectively.
As it stands, Ten Hag’s team have a free New Year’s Day, and with the Emirates FA Cup third round scheduled to take place on the first weekend of January, we may have to wait until a middle-of-the-month meeting with Tottenham for our first league game of 2024.
That’s a fixture set to take place at the Theatre of Dreams on Saturday 13 January, although it could still be moved as far as the following week due to the Premier League’s mid-season break, for which the schedule is still to be confirmed.
The period will see a regular 10-match round split over the weekends of 13 and 20 January.
UNITED’S 23/24 FESTIVE FIXTURES
23 December: West Ham (A)
26 December: Aston Villa (H)
30 December: Nottingham Forest (A)
Please note that all dates are still subject to change.
