Born in Abidjan, the biggest city in the Ivory Coast, Amad, as he prefers to be known, is one of the most talented young wingers on the European scene.
He signed for United in January 2021, although it took him a few years to make a mark on the first team, following loan spells with Rangers and Sunderland, where he won the Young Player of the Year award. Amad scored one of Old Trafford’s most dramatic and treasured goals, when finding the net in the final minute of extra-time to knock Liverpool out of the Emirates FA Cup in March 2024. He was a key member of the attack in 2024/25 and registered his first career hat-trick against Southampton in January 2025 – one of 11 goals he managed across the campaign – with another providing three points at Etihad Stadium as he bamboozled City goalkeeper Ederson with a deft two-touch finish.
A more reserved 2025/26 followed – his hectic schedule seeing the versatile attacker head to the African Cup of Nations in Morocco with Ivory Coast mid-season – but he remains a crucial creator for the Reds.
