Confirmed: United's team to take on Arsenal

Manchester United's line-up to face Arsenal in the Emirates FA Cup third round has been revealed.

Ruben Amorim has made two changes to the side that performed so impressively in last Sunday's 2-2 draw with Liverpool

Altay Bayindir takes Andre Onana's place in goal and Alejandro Garnacho is selected in attack ahead of Amad, who signed a new contract days after netting United's equaliser at Anfield.

Both of the replaced players are named among the substitutes.

Speaking to BBC Sport ahead of kick-off, Amorim explained why he selected Garnacho to start instead of Amad.

“Amad had a small issue during the week and I really like Garnacho’s way of playing,” said the head coach.

“Garnacho is playing really well with just 20 minutes per game, but also with the way he is training.

”We felt it was a good opportunity to see Garnacho start the game.“

Amorim added: “We have a great history in this competition. We want the feeling of not just winning games but winning trophies, so we’re here for that and that’s the goal.”

Meanwhile, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has made three changes from Tuesday’s 2-0 home defeat to Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg.

Jorginho, Mikel Merino and Gabriel Jesus come into the side, with Declan Rice, Thomas Partey and Leandro Trossard moving to the bench.
