Manchester United Women have today issued the following injury update, regarding forward Leah Galton:
“The club can confirm that Leah Galton has suffered ankle ligament damage and will spend the next couple of months working closely with the medical team on her rehabilitation.
“Everyone at the club wishes Leah a speedy recovery.”
Galton, who put pen to paper on a new United contract earlier this month, which keeps her at the club until at least June 2024, is the Reds' joint-leading goalscorer this season.
Our no.11 has netted six times in 18 appearances across all competitions in 2020/21, which is the same number of strikes Ella Toone has managed.
Leah was also voted WSL Player of the Month for December 2020, after excellent performances against Aston Villa, Reading and Bristol City.
