Loan Watch: Pellistri features in impressive win
Facundo Pellistri played his part in a big shock in La Liga, on a weekend where several Manchester United players earned valuable playing time for their loan clubs.
Pellistri came on as a substitute in the second half and played the final half-hour for Alaves as they pulled off a brilliant 1-0 win over reigning La Liga champions Atletico Madrid.
The 19-year-old was pleased with his team’s triumph, taking to social media to applaud his team-mates and the club’s supporters:
"An important win against Atletico Madrid to start adding points in La Liga," he wrote on his Twitter account.
"Thank you for your support!! Let’s go!!"

Brandon Williams again started for Norwich City but unfortunately for the Canaries, they could not end their run of losses in the Premier League. The United full-back was subbed off after 86 minutes following a yellow card as the team at the bottom of the table lost 2-0 to Everton at Goodison Park.
Andreas Pereira was brought on to the pitch in the 61st minute as Flamengo drew 1-1 against America in the Brazilian Serie A on Sunday. The reigning champions sit third in the table in the Brazilian top flight.
Tahith Chong played the full 90 minutes for Birmingham City as they drew 0-0 with Preston North End in the Championsip. The Dutch winger has started all but one league match since he made the loan move to the Midlands.
Elsewhere in the Championship, Ethan Laird continued his impressive form in Wales by once again completing 90 minutes as a wing-back for Swansea as they beat Huddersfield Town 1-0 in the Championship. It was only the Swans' second win of the league season as the 2013 League Cup winners climbed to 17th place in the second tier of English football.
Di’Shon Bernard did not feature for Hull City in their 2-0 loss to Stoke City, but James Garner played the full match as Nottingham Forest drew 1-1 with Milwall.
