Eriksen: I’m happy there’s another Dane at United!

Christian Eriksen says he is excited to share the same pitch as his Manchester United team-mate - and international compatriot - Rasmus Hojlund.

The 20-year-old striker joined United from Atalanta at the start of August, but is yet to make his debut for the Reds.

With manager Erik ten Hag stating in his press conference ahead of Saturday's 3-2 triumph over Nottingham Forest that the young Dane is not too far away from making his maiden bow for the club, excitement is beginning to gather.

Eriksen is arguably the player who knows Rasmus the best in the United ranks, and our no.14 has amplified that the former Copenhagen man will keep his feet firmly on the ground, despite all the noise around him.

Eriksen talks through his goalvideo

“He’s a guy who holds his ground,”
began Christian, speaking to United Review recently.

“He doesn’t back down from anything. He’s really a front-foot guy, who is aggressive and really attack-minded.

“But, at the same time, a nice guy outside of football.”
Having moved to the Premier League from Ajax back in 2013, Eriksen enjoyed a seven-year spell with his former side Tottenham, as he quickly established himself as one of the division's most creative midfield sparks.

Now aged 31, Christian has carved out a stellar career for himself here in England, and it is that experience that he also hopes to pass onto the Reds' newest recruit.

Ten Hag shares positive Hojlund update

“Yeah, I definitely will [pass that experience on] but he will definitely see it for himself,”
added Eriksen.

“The Premier League is different compared to any other league he’s been at before.

“So he’s going to have to adapt. But I’m sure he will adapt quickly.”

Eriksen: 'I had a striker's nose!'

With two Danish representatives now part of the make-up of Ten Hag's squad, Eriksen also insists it's something that has been well received back in his homeland.

“I know it’s been a massive, massive thing and still is,
 said the 31-year-old.

“Obviously, it’s going to explode even more when he is going to have his debut.

“I’m happy there’s another Dane at United who can show off the Danish flag.”
