Women's internationals: Your guide to April's games

Saturday 11 April 2026 09:00

A number of Manchester United players are due to represent their nations in international fixtures before our Barclays Women's Super League season resumes later this month.

United have three games left in the 2025/26 WSL, with trips to Spurs and Chelsea sandwiching our final home game of the campaign against Brighton, which has been moved to a midday kick-off on Saturday 2 May.

The goal will be to qualify for the next edition of the UEFA Women's Champions League by finishing in the top three, and it will be full steam ahead towards that objective once Marc Skinner's squad reassembles at Carrington.

In the meantime, you will be able to follow the progress of the Reds who are away on duty for their countries.

A busy fixture list for our senior internationals begins today (Saturday 11 April), when a Canada squad featuring Simi Awujo and Jayde Riviere takes on Zambia.

It's the first of three Brazil-based friendlies in this break for the nation managed by former United boss Casey Stoney, as they're also due to face South Korea on Wednesday and Brazil themselves a week on Sunday.

International friendlies are also on the agenda for Phallon Tullis-Joyce and Hinata Miyazawa, whose nations face each other three times in eight days. Tullis-Joyce is representing this year's SheBelieves Cup winners United States and they host Miyazawa's Japan, recently crowned Asian Cup champions, in a triple-header.

In Europe, it's matchdays three and four of the 2027 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Maya Le Tissier and Jess Park will hope to feature for England in a rematch of the 2023 final against Spain at Wembley Stadium, before the Lionesses head out to Iceland.

England are aiming to continue a 100-per-cent start to their qualifying campaign, as are Melvine Malard's France and Lea Schuller's Germany. Malard and Les Bleus will take on Netherlands home and away in this block, while it's back-to-back fixtures v Austria for Schuller and co.

Lea's hard at work with the Germany squad.

Norway are in Group D with Germany and will look to close the gap to the latter at the top, across two battles with Slovenia, with the help of Lisa Naalsund. Elisabeth Terland was called up too, but is an absentee.

Elsewhere, Safia Middleton-Patel - along with Mared Griffiths who is on loan at Sunderland - have two clashes with Albania for Wales, who have a win and a draw so far in qualifying.

The same can be said for Sweden, who have Reds trio Hanna Lundkvist, Fridolina Rolfo and Julia Zigiotti in their squad for a pair of matches on home soil against Denmark and Serbia.
