A product of United Women's Centre of Excellence, George is an England international defender with a wealth of experience in the Women's Super League.
Born in Manchester, Gabby George began her career playing for Blackpool girls before arriving at Manchester United's Centre of Excellence. George moved to Everton in 2014 and made her debut in April that year, against Notts County. The defender played 14 times for the Toffees in her first season at the club, starting the final of the Women's FA Cup at just 17 years of age. Gabby made Everton history three years later, signing as the club's first full-time professional player. Her rise did not go unnoticed by the England national team, who she had represented from Under-17s to Under-21s, and George was handed her first senior call-up for the 2017 SheBelieves Cup. It wasn't until September 2017 that she made her full England debut however, playing in the Lionesses' 6-0 World Cup qualifying win over Kazakhstan. The defender continued to impress at club level for Everton in the years that followed, being named the WSL's Player of the Month in January 2023. On 14 September 2023, Manchester United signed George from the Toffees, bringing her back to her childhood club. Her first season back with the Reds began strongly, as she started our first four competitive games of 2023/24, including the 1-1 draw against PSG in the Champions League. However, she suffered an ACL injury when playing against Leicester City in the WSL, requiring surgery which curtailed her campaign.
