Nikita
Biography
A top-class forward who arrived at United with experience, quality and a winning reputation, both at club and international level.
Parris came through the ranks at Everton and was already a fixture on the senior scene at the age of just 16, after making her professional debut against Arsenal in May 2010. A young Nikita would go on to get her first taste of Champions League and WSL football in the months that followed, while becoming a regular goal scorer for the Toffees. Despite the Merseysiders’ relegation in 2014, the forward was named in the WSL Team of the Year and returned to the top flight on loan with Manchester City in January 2015. Following a successful temporary spell in Manchester, Parris put pen to paper on a permanent deal with the Blues and went on to score 62 goals in 127 appearances before departing the club in the summer of 2019. During her time with City, Nikita won the WSL, two League Cups and two FA Cups, as well as becoming the league’s all-time top scorer – a record broken by Vivianne Miedema in 2020. Parris also made her England debut in June 2016 and netted her first major-tournament goal at Euro 2017. She was on the scoresheet again at the 2019 World Cup, shortly before joining Olympique Lyonnais. The Liverpool-born striker won everything there is to win at team level over two years in France, as well as the Champions League, before returning to the WSL with Arsenal for 2021/22, where she brought up her 50th WSL goal in May 2022. Nikita completed the switch to United in August, just days after the conclusion of a triumphant Euro 2022 campaign with England. She has also lifted the SheBelieves Cup (2019) and the Arnold Clark Cup (2022) with her nation. Upon becoming a Red, Parris said: “It feels unbelievable to be here. It’s been quite a summer, and this tops it off. Manchester United is a historic club who are making big movements in the WSL, and I can’t wait to be a part of our future success.” Having made her United debut in the season opener against Reading, Parris's first goal was a stunning long-range effort, away to Aston Villa in the Continental League Cup.
